As announced in July 2025, VeraSol is transitioning elements of its product certification process for off-grid solar energy kits. This transition aims to establish a new operational model that is more sustainable, scalable, and decentralized, while maintaining the rigor and credibility of the VeraSol certification framework.

VeraSol has selected two commercial partners – Shenzhen Academy of Metrology & Quality Inspection (SMQ) and Intertek Testing Services – Government and Trade Services (GTS) – to provide certification services. Both organizations have supported VeraSol’s testing program for many years and bring deep technical expertise in off-grid product testing and quality evaluation. Building on this long-standing collaboration, VeraSol will expand their role to include certification-related functions.

VeraSol is excited to work with these trusted partners in this next chapter and to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the certification ecosystem.

What to expect

In the next six months, VeraSol will train these partners on new procedures. These include: client onboarding, creating test plans, sampling coordination, and issuing both test and compliance reports.

If You Are a Company Seeking Product Certification

• For now, companies should continue to reach out directly to VeraSol to initiate the certification process.
• In the coming months, companies may notice that some compliance reports (assessing requirements in the IEC TS 62257-9-8 quality standard) are issued by the same laboratory that conducted product testing, rather than by VeraSol. As part of this process, the laboratory may contact companies directly to request supporting documentation or updated consumer-facing materials required to finalize compliance reports.

• By August, SMQ and Intertek are expected to assume responsibility for initial client engagement and certification contracting. VeraSol will provide detailed guidance on timing and next steps to ensure a smooth transition.
• Both commercial partners are currently determining service fees. Additional information regarding costs will be shared in the coming months. VeraSol will provide advance notice as we have more information.

If You Are a User of VeraSol Certificates and Data

• Throughout the transition, VeraSol will maintain program oversight to ensure that high standards are upheld and disruptions are minimized.
• VeraSol continues to issue the VeraSol certificates during and after the transition. The VeraSol certificate is a public-facing document, published on the VeraSol Product Database, that confirms a product or product family’s certification status under the VeraSol program.
• In addition, compliance reports will be issued by VeraSol’s commercial partners to companies. The compliance reports provide detailed documentation demonstrating each product or product family’s conformity to the IEC TS 62257-9-8 quality standard.
• VeraSol will also continue to host and manage the centralized VeraSol Product Database, which remains a trusted resource for companies, distributors, governments, and development partners seeking high-quality off-grid solar products.

后续规划与变化

未来六个月，VeraSol 将针对全新操作流程为上述合作机构开展专项培训，培训内容涵盖：客户准入对接、测试方案制定、抽样工作协调，以及测试报告与合规报告的出具等。

如果您是申请产品认证的企业

• 现阶段，企业仍需直接联系 VeraSol，启动认证流程。
• 未来数月，企业或将发现，部分合规报告（依据 IEC TS 62257-9-8 质量标准开展合规性评估）将由执行产品测试的实验室出具，而非 VeraSol 官方。在此过程中，相关实验室可能会直接联系企业，要求其提供佐证文件或更新面向消费者的相关材料，以完成合规报告的编制工作。

如果您是 VeraSol 证书和数据的使用者

• 在整个转型渡期，VeraSol 将持续对认证项目进行监督，确保认证标准始终维持高标准，同时最大限度降低转型带来的影响。
• 转型过渡期间及完成后，VeraSol 仍将作为证书颁发主体，持续出具 VeraSol 认证证书。该证书为公开性文件，将在 VeraSol 产品数据库中公示，用以确认相关产品或产品系列在 VeraSol 认证体系下的正式认证状态。
• 与此同时，合规报告将由 VeraSol 上述商业合作伙伴出具并交付至申请企业。合规报告将提供详实的佐证资料，证明对应产品或产品系列符合 IEC TS 62257-9-8 质量标准的各项要求。
• VeraSol 还将继续负责 VeraSol 产品数据库的运营与管理工作，该数据库将持续为企业、分销商、政府部门及发展合作机构等各方，提供优质离网太阳能产品的查询参考，始终作为行业内值得信赖的信息资源平台。
